What are the photo requirements?
Professional or smartphone photos will both work! Whichever you choose, be sure to do the following:
- Lighting: Make sure there’s lots of light. Outside photos work best.
- Framing: Photos should feature the face only, leaving about 2″ on all sides of the face, so we can cut out the face.
- Sizing: For resolution, your photos should be at least 2,400 pixels wide and 2,400 pixels wide and 300 DPI.
- After you take your photo, do not place watermarks or use filters.
Can I print any photo?
Please print a photo of yourself. If you don’t own the rights to the photo, we won’t print it.
Additionally, no inappropriate, graphic, or intentionally offensive images will be printed. If it wouldn’t be allowed at a high school, it won’t be allowed on your big head cutout.
Please center your head on your photo. Anything outside of your shoulders will be cropped in your photo.
What sizes do you offer for big head cutouts?
Standard sizes for our big head cutouts are 24″x36″ and 18″x24″. Note that this is the starting size so if the face you’re looking to print is more square, for example, the cutouts could be closer to 24″x24″ or 18″x18″. If you really want to cheer someone on, we can print big heads as big as 4’x8′!
How long does it take to make my big head?
Individual big head cutouts are available for porch pickup in Leesburg, Virginia 7–10 business days after you place your order. If you have a team order of 5+ standard size big heads or 10+ small big heads, we can turn the order around in 3-5 business days!
Are big heads waterproof?
Unlike other face sign printers who print on cardstock and foamcore, we print our big heads cutouts on 4mm corrugated plastic which is the same material used for standard yard signs, making them extremely weather resistant.
